Fobou

Privacy policy

Fobou Limited (company number 14669445, registered office MHA House, Charter Court, Phoenix Way, Swansea SA7 9FS, United Kingdom) is the data controller for the personal data described here. This policy covers fobou.com, our creator programme Fobou Studio and the internal tools our team uses to find and work with creators.

Who this is about

What we collect

Public creator information. We look at publicly available information about content creators: name and handle, profile picture, biography, follower and engagement counts, content categories, public business contact details and public links. We collect it from the creators' public pages and through official platform interfaces, including the Instagram Graph API (business discovery) and the Facebook Graph API for public Page information. We only read information the creator has made public. We do not read private messages or private accounts.

Information you give us. When you apply, contact us or work with us: your name, email address, social accounts, and whatever you choose to share in messages and documents.

Connected accounts. If you choose to connect an Instagram or Facebook account to a Fobou tool, we receive the information you approve on the connection screen, such as your profile, follower count and audience insights. You can disconnect at any time.

Website data. Standard technical data such as device and browser information. fobou.com uses no advertising or tracking cookies.

Why we use it

We do not sell personal data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not publish information about creators we have reviewed.

Who we share it with

Service providers that host and run our tools on our behalf, under contract and only as needed: Cloudflare (hosting and security), Neon (database), Microsoft (email and documents), Anthropic (AI assistance when summarising public profiles). Manufacturing and store partners only for collaborations you have agreed to. Authorities where the law requires it.

Some providers process data outside the United Kingdom. Where they do, we rely on adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Public profile information about creators we are not working with is kept for up to 24 months after we last review it, then deleted. Records of collaborations and correspondence are kept for as long as the relationship lasts, and afterwards as long as tax and contract law requires. Data from a connected account is deleted within 30 days of disconnection.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to our use of it, or ask us to restrict it. If you object to being reviewed as a possible creator partner, we will delete your information and not review you again.

To use any of these rights, email privacy@fobou.com. We answer within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Deleting your data

To have your data deleted, including data received from Instagram or Facebook, email privacy@fobou.com from the address or account concerned, or tell us your handle. We confirm deletion within 30 days. If you connected an account, you can also remove Fobou's access from your Instagram or Facebook settings, under Apps and websites.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and show the date at the top.
